Jeffrey J. Siegel
President
Jeff has been employed full-time at Mica since 1986 although his first paycheck from Mica can be traced back to the early 1970’s. Back then, he worked summers and during school breaks. Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and management training from UST Corp. in Boston, MA where he became a Branch Manager and corporate officer. Jeff joined Mica Corporation full-time in 1986 in financial management and has since served as Operations Manager, and Vice President. Jeff was elected to the position of President in 2000. A TAPPI member since 1987, Jeff has served on the extrusion coating committee of the PLACE division. He has held numerous positions on that committee and served as the Extrusion Coating Committee Chairman (1993-1994). Jeff was chairman of the PLACE division (1998-1999), has been a member of TAPPI’s technical operations committee and the Operating Committee of the Board of Directors. Jeff has been a frequent speaker at TAPPI conferences, short courses and symposia both in the United States and in Europe. He is currently serving as TAPPI’s Chairman of the Board. In 1994 he received a Best Session Award for his presentation “Extrusion Coating Processing” at the PLC Conference. In 2002 he was honored with the PLACE division’s Leadership and Service Award and the Andreas Ahlbrandt Prize in recognition of his contributions to the organization. In his free time, Jeff enjoys boating with his wife, Mindy and two daughters, Jaclyn and Rebecca. He is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain.

Tammy Cheng
Laboratory Manager
Tammy Cheng holds a BS in Chemistry from University of Scranton. She was employed for 10 years at Dow Corning Corporation as a product development chemist in the microelectronics division. It was there where she developed her knowledge of various filler/resin treatment, protective coatings, and injection-moldable materials. Tammy joined Mica Corporation in 2005.

Linda Walsh
International Sales Expeditor/ Office Manager
Linda achieved a Certificate in Secretarial Science at the Butler Business School of Bridgeport CT, an Associate of Science degree in Marketing from Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, CT, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Prior to her time at Mica Corporation, Linda was the secretary and Program Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant for the Housewares and Audio Business Division of General Electric Company. She was also the Executive Secretary/ Administrative Assistant and the Inventory/ Production Control Coordinator for Black & Decker Corporation. Linda later served as a Sales Associate and Assistant to the vice president/ Sales Support Administrator for Howe Furniture Corporation. Linda serves as Mica’s International Sales Expeditor/ Office Manager. She has been with Mica Corporation for thirteen years. Her favorite part about her job is the opportunity to interact with Mica’s international customers as well as the Mica employees. In her spare time, Linda enjoys kayaking, golf, yoga, swimming, and reading.

Bruce W. Foster
Technical Sales Manager
Bruce achieved a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. Bruce worked at Eastman Chemical as a Polymer Scientist, in Extrusion Coating Product Development and Technical Service for eighteen years. Bruce has worked in his current position at Mica Corporation for ten years. His favorite part about working at Mica is the people. Also, being part of a small, innovative company allows the freedom to wear “many hats”. Bruce holds a number of patents involving polyolefin compositions and/ or processes for using them. He has authored papers dealing with the study of biological macromolecules featured in Biophysical Journal and Biochemistry. He has also published several articles dealing with new adhesives, methods for studying them, and a rheological method for measuring MWD of polymers in the TAPPI Journal and Adhesives Age magazines. Bruce’s other honors include: TAPPI Best Paper Awards -1991 Hot-Melt Symposium & 1991 PLC Conference, TAPPI Best Session Award for 1994 PLC Conference, TAPPI Division Technical Award 1997. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys golfing, music, reading and sailing.

Jessica Bodine
Technical Sales Representative
Jessica graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT and took post graduate classes at Polytechnic University in West Chester, NY. In addition, she has completed advanced classes in Polymer Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis and Business through various professional organizations. Jessica has spent her entire professional career at Mica Corporation. Originally hired as a laboratory technician responsible for quality control, she worked her way through research and development, manufacturing support and customer service to technical sales. In her sixteen years at Mica, Jessica has worked with almost every Mica product. Jessica is a member of TAPPI, the Place division, serves on the Coating and Laminating committee for AIMCAL, was elected to the board of directors for the Flexible Packaging committee of SPE and serves on the technical bag committee for IOPP. She has given numerous technical presentations for all of these organizations. Jessica enjoys golf, watching high school and SEC football, the Boston Red Sox, skiing, running with her two dogs Fred and Nissa, and of course, talking. Jessica’s favorite part about working for Mica is meeting people all over the country, talking to customers from all over the world, and making friends with all of the fascinating, intelligent, hardworking professionals in this industry. This is a privilege that makes all the traveling and days away from home worth it!

Robert Hammond
Technical Sales Representative
Rob graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Rob previously worked for Allied Chemical (now Honeywell), GTE Laboratories (now Verizon), and Polaroid. His professional fields of specialization include molecular spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and coating technology. Rob has been at Mica for eleven years and has been a Technical Sales Representative for six years.

Tim Hemkens
Technical Sales Representative
Tim graduated in 1979 from the University of Missouri Saint Louis with a Bachelor Degree in Biology and Chemistry minor. He immediately started his carreer in the packaging field as a bench chemist and field technician with The Jefferson Smurfit Group (now Smurfit-Stone Container). From there, he accepted the position of Laboratory Manager with Sealright Corporation at the Packaging Technology Center (now Huhtamaki), where he was responsible for all corporate raw material and finished goods specifications, test procedures, and management of the extensive Packaging Laboratory. After thirteen years, Tim landed a job with Morton International (Later Rohm & Haas, now Dow Chemical) as Technical Sales Representative, Adhesives and Chemical Specialties division, serving the central midwest, supporting a wide spectrum of packaging products. Tim has been with Mica Corporation for 9 years now. He enjoys the technical aspects of his job as Technical Sales Representative, especially problem solving, and his has covered the European community for the past three years. His interests are cooking, with emphasis on grilling and smoking, fishing, camping, and travel with his family.

Mike Wintman
Logistics Manager
Mike has been with Mica Corporation for 34 years. In fact, Mica has been Mike's only job since receiving his Masters Degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University. For Mike, working at Mica has never been boring. Every day brings a new challenge, and that is one of the good things about working at a small company. That, and the feeling that we are a family as well as a business. In his spare time Mike likes to socialize with friends, participate in sports and cook.
